Self-esteem

A fire in my head/ burns reason to rage./ Thoughts, like embers,/ spark and crackle in the wind./ Sometimes, a flaming ash escapes/ and scorches; / but more commonly/ it burns itself,/ kills itself,/ just as my thoughts/ burn my reason.
